Influence of ethnic groups in UK.
Nowadays
there is a great cultural diversity in UK and it is reflected in the way of
life, gastronomy or in different celebrations. Can you imagine London without
the Chinatown neighbourhood or stalls without asian food?
The
occupation of other populations has occurred for many years. The whole process
started after the Fall of the Western Roman Empire, Anglo-Saxons (5th
Century) and Vikings (8th Century) invaded and migrated to Great
Britain. Presently most of the foreign
population comes from Australia, China, South Africa, India and other European
countries. This fact leads to a series
of problems such as racism or xenophobia which harm the new population and they
find it difficult to integrate.
According
to the Office for National Statistics the migration of non-European citizens
has increased considerably in recent years while British emigration is the
lowest net migration since 2010. Because of the Brexit held in 2016 the main
population that has been affected has been that belonging to the European Union.
For this reason, the exit of the UK as a country of the European Union has not
been a problem for the new ethnic groups.
To
conclude, a clear example of cultural diversity and all the advantages that it
contains we can see, for instance, in London who hosts the largest number of
migrants among all regions of the UK. So
are you willing to miss this great opportunity to know other cultures without
the need to travel a big distance?

Thanks to inmigration, we have more diversity in the British Culture, and it is great to have so much cultures living in the same place because people will never get bored as they will always see something they didn't know! Great topic and great job! Keep working like this!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Immigration is a huge topic nowadays so I think it's good that you choose this topic. Especially today in the refugee crisis in Europe it is important to see all the opportunities that intercultural interaction can bring. Not only the business world in todays globalization profits from it, but also the people will hopefully be more open to other habits and perceptions. Without immigration many countries wouldn't be as they are today. Well done :)

It is hard to believe how the impact of other cultures, influence us as human beings. Some people think that it has nothing to do the way we think with the kind of people we interactuate with. It actually has to do, to exchange different points of view may help us to realize that what we think is not always the best choice. It also makes us more patient and more comprehensive with others, we will be able to develop the skill of knowing what it is like to walk in the other’s shoes. The influence of ethnic groups in the UK also makes the country more colorful and rich in culture. I have always thought that a country that welcomes foreign people is full of smart people.
